The School of Philosophy and Economic Science

SPES

The School of Philosophy and Economic Science is a registered educational charity, founded in 1937.

It is a centre of spiritual and practical knowledge and enquiry. Its aim is to help anyone who seeks it to lead a fuller, richer and more useful life.

The main subject explored in the School today is practical, living philosophy, based mostly on the philosophy of Advaita, or unity.

Courses are also offered at some locations in economics with justice. These aim to show how a more equitable distribution of wealth can be achieved while leaving the world in as good a condition as we find it, or better.

In addition to philosophy and economics, the School offers a wide range of other courses, including art courses, seminars, workshops, concerts and lectures.
